Hubby Does Good

1 Dec

So remember when I was so excited about the organic produce box I signed up for? Well I’m ashamed to admit that we pretty much wasted the entire first box of produce we got due to Watergate 2011. 😳 So this week, I vowed that we were NOT going to waste any food, despite the fact that our house is still torn apart.

Luckily, the hubby was on board with this pledge because when I came home from work tonight, he had a pot of delicious veggie stew boiling on the stove. High five, hubby! πŸ˜€

He used up a lot of veggies with just this stew. In the mix:
-carrots
-potatoes
-cabbage
-turnips
-orzo pasta
-garbanzo beans
-veggie broth
-water
-garlic
-salt
-pepper

The stew was WAY good! It basically tasted like homemade chicken noodle soup, minus the chicken. The hubby even called his grandma to consult her on the principles of stew making. How sweet is that?! πŸ˜€

In other news, it’s December 1st! Where the hell has this year gone?! At least that means it is one less day until we find out what bowl game the Cyclones are going to! We went to the Insight Bowl in Tempe in 2009 and are planning to go to this year’s, provided that it is in a decent locale (read: not New York in the middle of freakin’ winter).

Now I’m off to snuggle with my loves and watch my DVRed episode of Glee. Coach Beast is singing Joleen! She’s not as good as my homegirl Dolly, but she’s not bad.

TGIalmostF, people!
