Thanksgiving Redo

14 Nov

Just last week, I was drooling over all the things I wanted to make for Thanksgiving. What a difference a few days makes. Now I have come to the realization that after Watergate 2011, there is no way our house is going to be back in order in time for Thanksgiving, considering it is a week and a half away. 😯

So it’s time for a Thanksgiving redo. Normally, I hate eating at restaurants on holidays because their food is never as good as what we make at home, but this time I don’t really have a choice in the matter unless I want my Thanksgiving feast to be filled with drywall dust. So after some online perusing, we’ve settled on Back Bay Bistro for our Thanksgiving meal. I selected this one over the other choices for two main reasons – it’s a buffet, which means I won’t get stuck with the choice of eating turkey or turkey, and there were many different delicious sounding desserts. Yep, that’s how I roll – more than one dessert on holidays. 😉 Why have just pumpkin pie, when you can have pumpkin pie and pecan pie… and chocolate bread pudding, according to their menu. Here’s the full drool-worthy menu:

Cold Seafood & Salad Station

Let’s hope it is as delicious as it sounds!

Another advantage of this restaurant is that it’s right on the water.

Not a bad place to send Thanksgiving, if you must go to a restaurant

In other news, guess what we saw last night…

After the soul-crushing weekend we had, we just had to get out of the house and do something fun. Harold & Kumar, plus NPH was the perfect distraction!!! This movie definitely deserves its R-rating, but isn’t that what makes it so good? 😉 It was absolutely hilarious from start to finish! And it’s in 3D! Think smoke rings coming at you in 3D. Yes, that kind of smoke. This will definitely be one to add to the DVD collection. Hubby and I are still quoting the movie to each other today. 😀

What are your favorite holiday movies? My ALL TIME favorite is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
